The course provides hands on instruction in sonographic scanning of the female pelvis. Students will explore the reproductive organs of the pelvis to include, the uterus, ovaries, adnexa, as well as related structures. Students will focus on assessment of the normal pelvis through various scanning techniques, sonographic appearance of normal anatomy and anatomical variants, organ positioning, and correlation of findings with foundational gynecologic physiologic concepts. Prerequisite(s): Grade of “C” or better in SON 213 , SON 214 , SON 215 , SON 216 .
