Students will receive hands on instruction in sonographic scanning technique of the cerebrovascular system as it pertains to transcranial Doppler, palmer arch, vessel mapping, ABI/BTP, lower extremity venous insufficiency, lower extremity arterial exercise testing, and visceral vascular to include liver Doppler, SMA Doppler, and renal Doppler procedures. Students will learn methods of improving image quality through proper instrumentation manipulation as well as patient positioning and instruction. Prerequisite(s): Grade of “C” or better in SON 227 , SON 228 , SON 229 , SON 282 .
