Computer Information Science (AAS)

Location(s): Springfield Campus, Table Rock Campus



A.A.S. Degree: 62 Hours

This Associate of Applied Science degree program prepares students with the essential knowledge and skills to develop computer and web applications within the business environment of local industries using current programming languages, database programming, and other development tools necessary in today’s workplace.  This program uses as a guide the competencies outlined by the National Business Education Association, as well as various industry certification standards, such as those developed by Microsoft Corporation.

Computer Information Science Requirements - 46 Credit hours


Beginning Programming - 6 Credit Hours


Advanced Programming - 3 Credit Hours


Internship Option - 3 Credit Hours


If CIS290 is taken for less than 3 credit hours, it will not satisfy this requirement. 

Related Electives - 6 Credit Hours


Courses may not be applied to both beginning or advanced requirements and related electives.

General Education Requirements - 16 Credit Hours


Mathematical Sciences - 3 Credit Hours


Any higher level MTH course will satisfy this requirement.

Written Communications - 3 Credit Hours


Oral/ Written Communications - 3 Credit Hours


Natural Sciences - 4 Credit Hours
