Aviation General Technician Certificate of Specialization - Coming Fall 2024

Certificate of Specialization: 15 Hours

The Certificate of Specialization in Aviation General Technician prepares individuals with the fundamental technical knowledge and stills for a successful future career in aviation maintenance. Students will be taught through hands-on courses, for foundational mechanical and maintenance principles in aviation such as mechanic privileges and limitation, basic electrical principles, materials and processes for maintenance, cleaning and corrosion control, ground operations, and more. Training will include the knowledge and skills to read schematics, properly maintain records, and follow regulations and Airworthiness Directives. Students will be prepared for the FAA written, oral and practical examinations for Certification as an Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT).

 A grade of “C” (70%) or better is required for all program required courses and students must pass the Written Examinations for the General Mechanic.
