MLT-230 Clinical Microbiology Credits: 4 Contact Hours: Lec 3 Lab 2 This course is designed to instruct the Medical Laboratory Technician on the proper identification and handling of microorganisms in a clinical setting. The student learns microorganism morphology, growth requirements and speciation. The student works with a variety of specimens and learns the intricacy for optimum isolation and identification on common clinical microorganisms that might be present. Prerequisite(s): Grade of “C” or better in all of the previous Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) courses.
