IST-225 Programmable Control Credits: 4 Contact Hours: Lec 2 Lab 4 Practicum 0 Note: Course is offered in the spring semester. IST 130 or prior electrical experience recommended. This lecture/lab course introduces the basic hardware and programming language of common programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in industrial process control systems. The student learns the proper syntax of PLC code, basic commands and the functioning of the program cycle. Programs will be written around discreet control elements. Students learn how to use basic programming commands to perform typical industrial processes.
