ANT-220 Cultural Anthropology Credits: 3 Contact Hours: Lec 3 Cultural Anthropology, also known as ethnology, social anthropology or sociocultural anthropology, is the largest of the four ‘fields’ or subdisciplines of anthropology. Cultural anthropologists study the ways in which people live throughout the world and write accounts of cultures, known as ethnographies, to gain insights into the human condition. Cultural anthropology also compares the ways of living, developing concepts and theories that apply to all cultures and making cross-cultural generalizations about human behavior. Prerequisite(s): ANT 101 or SOC 101 .
