SON 251: Abdominal Sonography III Credits: 1 Lec 1 Lab 0 Practicum 0 Tier Rate: Tier III The focus of this course includes an in-depth study of the anatomy and pathology related to the extended structures of the abdomen. Students will study pediatrics to include head, hips, and spine. Additional areas of study include the structures of the gastrointestinal tract, retroperitoneum, peritoneal cavity and abdominal wall, penis, prostate, chest, great vessels, interventional procedures, and musculoskeletal imaging. Additional emphasis will be placed on exam interpretation through correlation of lab results, clinical signs and symptoms, and normal verses abnormal. Prerequisite(s): Grade of “C” or better in SON 243, SON 262, and SON 285.
