This course explores the historical and legal perspectives of education, specifically early childhood education. Focus is given to professionalism in the early childhood education field; being a reflective practitioner, formatting and beginning professional materials such as developing their philosophy of teaching, a professional resume, and lesson plans. Students will also explore early childhood professional code of ethics. A 30 hour practicum is required. For placement in the required practicum classroom, a criminal background check may be necessary with an associated out-of-pocket fee paid by the student. Prerequisite(s): Grade of “B” or better in EDU 130. Maximum Credit Hours 3
