HIT-290 Prof Practice Experience

This course facilitates supervised field-based learning in affiliate healthcare and healthcare-related agencies. It is designed to provide the student with an opportunity to integrate classroom and clinical experience within the Health Information Management Department and other associated departments. Students are expected to complete a defined number of hours of nonpaid practical experience at the designated practice site. Students are responsible for transportation and other expenses related to this course. Students are required to pass a comprehensive program exit examination. Prerequisite(s): Grade of “C” or better in all first, second, third and fourth semester HIT courses, grade of “C” or better or currently enrolled in HIT 200, HIT 201, HIT 280 with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 and permission of program director.
