Lecture and laboratory course designed to introduce dental assisting and dental hygiene students to infection prevention including procedures of instrument processing and sterilization, surface disinfection, use of protective barriers, waste management, hazardous materials management, regulatory agencies, and CDC guidelines. Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Dental Assisting or Dental Hygiene program.
