Students will learn the theory and fundamentals of the gas metal arc welding (GMAW) process, including the difference between the various transfer modes of spray and pulse spray. Electrode selection, weld joint fundamentals and striking an arc will be covered. Students will perform flat and horizontal groove welds and flat and horizontal fillet welds according to AWS acceptance criteria. Prerequisite(s): WLDS 113A or prior industry knowledge demonstrated to the instructor.
