MECS-225A Intro to Programmable Logic

Students will learn the basic hardware and programming language of common programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in industrial systems. Students will learn to use basic programming commands to perform typical industrial operations. Using the Allen-Bradley MicroLogix family of PLCs and RSLogix 500 programming software, the student will learn the proper syntax of PLC code, addressing, basic commands, and the functioning of the program cycle.   Prerequisite(s): MECS 130A  or prior industry knowledge demonstrated to the instructor.
