HIT-285 Prof Practice Experience

The primary purpose of this course is to provide clinical experiences in health information technology knowledge and skills. Students are expected to complete a defined number of hours of nonpaid practical experience at clinic sites. Students are responsible for immunizations, transportation, and other expenses related to this course. Students will review AHIMA domains, and complete practice exams and a comprehensive program exam to assess knowledge and testing skills for the RHIT credential exam. This course is taken in the student’s final semester as the prior semester courses build on the skills needed to complete this course. Students will follow an approval application process in order to enroll in this course. Prerequisite(s): Complete with a grade of “C” or better in HIT 200, HIT 201, HIT 215, HIT 265, HIT 280. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50.
