EDU-250 Educational Psychology

This course is designed to help students relate theories and principles of educational psychology to teaching, learning, and assessment.  Students will consider factors that impact learning and be introduced to topics such as cognitive learning theory, motivation theory, classroom management, formative assessment, neurodiversity, and social emotional learning. Specific emphasis is placed on how students can curate a positive classroom environment for all learners using principals of cognitive learning theory, universal design for learning, individualized instruction, motivation theory, and appropriate assessment practices. Prerequisite(s): Grade of “B” or better in EDU 130 ; PSY 130  or concurrent enrollment.
