AGR-268 Forage Management

This course covers the principles of pastures management which can be implemented in common farm and ranch operations. We will cover the benefits of pasture as the main source of animals’ diet, identification and growth pattern of grasses and legumes commonly grown in pastures and hay fields, forage quality and the factors affecting forage quality, grazing management of forages to maximize their health and productivity, managing existing pastures and hay fields, and establishing new pastures and hay fields. Prerequisite(s): AGR 180 .
