SOC-215 Deconstructing Social Problems

This course is a critical examination of social problems that exist in modern societies. Social problems will be addressed through an analysis of how they are constructed, the sociological approach to problems, and an exploration of why problems persist. Policies related to reducing social problems will be discussed with an emphasis on what we can do in our community to decrease the negative consequences of social problems. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 12 credit hours; 100 level or above.
