This course covers the principles of immunology and blood banking procedures using the guidelines of the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB). Topics covered include antigenantibody reactions, immunoglobulin structures and functions, complement interaction, clinically significant blood group systems, antibody detection and identification, immunologic disease of the newborn, compatibility testing and component therapy. Prerequisite(s): Grade of “C” or better in MLT 200 , MLT 215 , MLT 230
