This course introduces the basic word structure in medical terminology with emphasis on word roots, prefixes, and suffixes using a body systems approach. Topics include conventional pathology, pharmacology, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, surgical nomenclature, and abbreviations related to each body system. Includes applications and activities that reinforce word building, pronunciation, spelling, and medical terminology commonly used in healthcare.
