CIS-239 Back-end Web Development Credits: 3 Contact Hours: Lec 2 Lab 2 Practicum 0 Tier Rate: Tier I Note: Course only offered in the spring semester. Upon successful completion of this course, students will have hands-on experience writing server-side or back-end development code. Programming on the server allows browsers to interact with databases, web services, and other systems. This course presents an overview of a variety of Web backend topics: handling user input; storing, modifying, and retrieving information in databases; and building systems with secure user accounts. This course is recommended for Web developers, designers, and programmers who want to learn back-end programming fundamentals and create interactive and dynamic Web pages. Prerequisite(s): Grade of “C” or better in CIS 130 . Maximum Credit Hours 3
